Final FALAH Conference

Dear all,

 

We are pleased to announce the call for contribution for the final FALAH conference that will take place at the University of New Caledonia, Noumea, on the 18th to 20th of March 2025.

 

The conference: “FAMILY FARMING, LIFESTYLE AND HEALTH IN SMALL ISLANDS, COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES” which looks at the cultivation, fishing, gathering and hunting practices that make up what the FAO calls family farming will focus on 4 mains themes:

1 – What place and what stakes for family farming in small islands?

2 – Food systems, lifestyles and health in small islands

3 – What paths for co-construction of knowledges in the land and sea production practices and food systems of small islands

4 – What public and aids policies for family farming in small islands?

 

Please see the call for papers and the response template attached that is also available on the scienceconf website. You can find the French version on the FALAH website.

 

Publication opportunities:

Presentations of the conference can be submitted as articles for publication in the FALAH project collection in Open Research Europe journal: https://open-research-europe.ec.europa.eu/collections/family-farming-lifestyle-health/about

Note that for FALAH members (a minimum of one of the co-authors must be in the FALAH consortium): article processing charges will be covered centrally by the European Commission.

Please submit your paper (PDF) to falahconf2025@unc.nc before November 29th 2024 (NEW DATE), and include the following at the beginning of the subject line of your email: SUBMISSION FALAH FINAL CONFERENCE – Theme (1/2/3/4).

 

A decision on your response to the call will be taken by 20 December 2024 at the latest.

 

The programme and event guide will be sent to you at a later date.
